How to Print Digital Art from Etsy Without Cropping or Color Problems

Download the right file

After purchase, download the artwork files from your Etsy account. If you checked out as a guest, Etsy sends a download link by email. Save the files to your computer before sending them to a lab.

Do not screenshot the listing image. Listing previews are compressed and will not print cleanly at wall size.

Match the ratio before printing

Frames use ratios such as 2:3, 3:4, 4:5, 5:7, square, and A series. Choose the artwork file that matches the frame. A 24 by 36 inch frame needs a 2:3 file, while a 16 by 20 inch frame needs a 4:5 file.

If the ratio is wrong, the print shop may crop important details or add unexpected borders. Check the frame first, then upload the matching file.

Choose paper and settings

Matte fine art paper works for most rooms because it reduces glare and preserves texture. Luster paper is a good option for richer color. Glossy paper can look sharp, but it often reflects too much light for wall decor.

Ask the lab to print from the original file at 300 DPI and keep color correction light. For important pieces, order a small proof before printing the largest size.
